Cenotaph
This site is dedicated to the memory of Eric Martin (The Commish). Eric's love for motorsport led to the design and development of this wonderful site. His life was all too short and ended on July 1, 1998. Eric was struck down in the prime of his life by the ravages of cancer, specifically anaplastic astrocytoma. Anyone blessed enough to know him will remember his enthusiastic spirit and great love of motor racing. The many kind notes from PickSix participants during that period were greatly appreciated by the Martin family. The memory of Eric Martin will live on at PickSix.com.
Eric admired two drivers, both world champions. He was a big fan of the late Ayrton Senna. Along with the whole racing community, he was saddened by the tragic loss of such a talented and gifted driver. He also admired Mika Hakkinen. From the early days of the US GP in Phoenix, Eric saw the potential of this young driver and routed him on at every occasion. Unfortunately, Eric never saw his driver reach the pinnacle of F1, the drivers championship. The following photo was taken at one of several trips to the Canadian GP in Montreal.
If you are so inclined, his wife has asked that you send a donation to one of the organizations below, or one of your choice. Your donations will ultimately help others in their struggle to overcome cancer.
